Intrigued by finance from a young age, Kenneth Griffin began investing in 1986 from his Harvard dorm room. The following year, he launched a small hedge fund that utilized emerging quantitative analytics to inform investment decision-making. Ken’s decades of philanthropic involvement reflect the same strategic mindset that has contributed to his business success. Now advanced through Griffin Catalyst, his contributions have expanded access to education for millions of Americans, transformed research and medical institutions with historic gifts, and strengthened our cultural institutions. Ken’s insights were instrumental in the launch of Operation Warp Speed’s accelerated COVID-19 vaccine development and deployment strategies. As an angel investor, his investments are primarily in the seed, and early series rounds. His personal investment portfolio includes Forest Neurotech, Cohesion, Natural Air and Space Museum, and Medici. Ken holds an A.B. with Honors in Economics from Harvard College.
