Karthik Ramakrishnan, Angel Investor

Karthik Ramakrishnan joined Amazon in January 2012 as an early engineer responsible for the development of Alexa and the Echo family of products. He led the creation of the Alexa Software Stack, including the speech recognition and language understanding services. He currently leads the science and engineering organization overseeing the development of Amazon’s Generative AI efforts. Karthik started his career at Netscape in 2000 after finishing his undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. From 2004 to 2010, Karthik worked in Tellme Networks as a senior platform engineer, building their voice platform and developing systems for speech recognition and language understanding. He is also an angel investor primarily in the pre-seed and seed funding rounds. His portfolio includes Chowdeck, Augmend, Grey, and Codingal.
