JP Thor, Angel Investor

John-Paul Thorbjornsen "JP Thor," born on Bathurst Island, North of Darwin, was homeschooled in rural Northern Territory, finishing in the top 10 for the state in his final year. He then joined the Air Force and studied Aeronautical Engineering, graduating at the top of his year in 2009 with First Class Honours. After completing his pilot training in 2012, he conducted fighter training on the Hawk 127 and F/A-18 Hornet. In 2013, he transitioned to crypto, initially building various decentralized applications. In 2018, along with a team of 5 engineers, he began building a decentralized platform called THORChain. Within 18 months of launching, THORChain reached a market value of $1 billion. Currently, it is the world's largest decentralized liquidity protocol, with a lifetime volume of over $100bn. Now, JP is working on several other projects to solve key problems in the crypto space. He is also passionate about motivating others to solve problems through technology. JP is also an angel investor with investments primarily in the seed funding round. His portfolio includes Pivotal and Jetson Aero.
