About Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures

JHTV aims to maximize the impact of Johns Hopkins University’s research excellence by facilitating the translation and commercialization of discoveries into accessible technologies, products, and services that benefit society. *Translational Funding Translational funding enables researchers to set early-stage innovations and discoveries on a path to commercialization. This funding can be used to de-risk a technology and increase its value in the eyes of commercial partners. Translational funding does not require and thereby, dilute equity ownership, although it may have participation rights or a payback component. *Startup Funding Established startups with high growth potential typically seek angel or venture capital investment to fund product development, commercialization and growth. JHTV networks with regional, national and global investors, including angels and venture capitalists, to identify where investors’ focus overlaps with FastForward startups’ solutions. This includes a number of venture firms with a regular presence on the Johns Hopkins campus.
