I have been Chairman of Telstra Corporation since 27 April 2016 and a non-executive Director since July 2008. I have been Chairman of Brambles Ltd since July 2020. I am Executive Chairman of the Toll Group, Australia’s largest transport and logistics company employing 45,000 people in 55 countries. I am a non-executive director of Brookfield Infrastructure Partners and Chairman of the Australian National Maritime Museum Foundation. I am a member of a UNICEF taskforce on sexual harassment and gender diversity. Previous directorships include Chairman of the US National Foreign Trade Council in Washington, Brambles Ltd., Macquarie Airports and various other companies in Australia and overseas. I have lived or worked in 13 countries over the years. In my executive career I have had over 30 years experience in the global logistics industry, being fortunate enough to have worked in some of the most notable organisations in the field including Asciano, DHL Express and the TNT Group.We I was Chief Executive Officer from 2011 to 2016 at Asciano, Australia's largest integrated rail and ports operator. I joined Asciano from DHL Express, where I served as Global Chief Executive Officer from 2006 to 2009, Joint Chief Executive Officer in 2005 and prior to that CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific. In my time at DHL Express I had the privilege of leading approximately 140,000 employees worldwide. Before joining DHL Express I served as the Global CEO of TNT Express Worldwide. I have a passion for entrepreneurship and am an active investor in small businesses and StartUps both domestically and abroad. I am a huge believer in the power of a great workplace culture. That includes the ability to create a shared sense of purpose, alignment of personal and organisational values, a motivational workplace where authority and accountability is given freely and success is recognised and rewarded, not just financially but through peer recognition.
