About Jelena McWilliams, Angel Investor
Jelena McWilliams is currently President of Corporate and External Affairs at Plaid, the financial data network powering thousands of fintech apps. She previously served as the 21st Chairman of the FDIC, overseeing more than 6,000 employees and supervising approximately 5,000 U.S. banks, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the FDIC, Jelena was EVP and Chief Legal Officer at Fifth Third Bank, and spent six years on the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, most recently as Chief Counsel and Deputy Staff Director. She later joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore as founding Managing Partner of its Washington, D.C. office and Head of the Financial Institutions Group, advising fintechs, financial institutions, and venture-backed companies on regulatory, M&A, and capital markets matters.
She is also an angel investor, with a known investment in Bluprynt, an AI-powered documentation and compliance platform for the construction industry, which raised a $4.3M Seed Round.
