About Jeff Patterson, Angel Investor

Jeff Patterson is the Founder & CEO of Gaggle, a company he launched in 1999 to create safe digital learning environments for students. Inspired by a teacher’s concerns about email safety, he built Gaggle to combine machine learning with human oversight, detecting risks such as self‑harm, cyberbullying, and substance abuse while enabling secure communication and collaboration in schools. Earlier in his career, Jeff co‑founded Pixel Genius Entertainment, a multimedia CD‑ROM company with retail distribution across major outlets, and Harvard Fax, a mail‑order fax machine venture that reached $1M in sales. He also worked in investment banking at Oppenheimer & Co. and began his professional journey as an intern at Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc. As an investor, Jeff backed Adaptive Reader in its 2025 pre‑seed round, reflecting his ongoing interest in supporting innovative education and technology solutions.
