Janice Lederman, Angel Investor

Jan Lederman is a former M&A lawyer at TDS, LLP, and is currently an early-stage investor and corporate and startup director. She was awarded a Doctor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 2019 and is a former Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba. She holds a Certificate in Negotiation from Harvard Law School and a Blue Belt in Innovation Engineering. Jan was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Award in 2012 and the Golden Jubilee Award in 2002, in recognition of her volunteer contributions. She was awarded the Andre Maillot Award from United Way of Canada in 2001 and was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award of Excellence by the University of Manitoba in 2017. Jan is currently a director of several public and private company boards and is an active angel investor in startups in Canada & Southeast Asia. She is a former senior partner at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman, LLP. In her legal practice, Jan focused on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, finance, investment, and startups.
