About Jake Heller, Angel Investor
Jake Heller is Head of Product for CoCounsel at Thomson Reuters, leading innovation in AI-driven legal technology. He previously founded Casetext, serving as CEO for over a decade, where he built one of the first widely adopted AI legal assistants, later acquired by Thomson Reuters for $650 million.
Earlier in his career, Jake worked as an associate at Ropes & Gray LLP and served as a law clerk at the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He also held a fellowship at the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel, gaining experience in both private practice and public service.
He is also an angel investor with a focus on AI and legal technology startups. His portfolio includes Casium, an AI-driven legal platform; Markup AI, a company enhancing document review with machine learning; Crosby, a workflow collaboration tool; and InScope, a legal tech startup improving compliance and case management.
