Irwan Bello is a leading researcher and entrepreneur in artificial intelligence, currently part of the founding team at Reflection AI. His work focuses on advancing frontier AI systems and applications. He previously served as a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, contributing to AGI research and product development, including ChatGPT and GPT‑4. Before that, he was on the founding team at Character.AI, helping build one of the most widely adopted conversational AI platforms. Irwan spent over five years as a Research Scientist at Google Brain, where he worked on deep learning, large language models, and computer vision. His academic foundation includes research at Stanford University, where he began exploring machine learning at scale.
