IPD Capital is a venture capital investor offering unique IP expertise. We are stage agnostic as we have invested in companies from seed stage to ones with over $100MM in revenues. IPD believes in companies with good business models that are protected and enhanced by strong intellectual property (IP) strategies, including; Patent picket fences around critical technology; strong understanding of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets used to strengthen technology positions and brand strategies; In‑licensing and acquisition of third‑party patents/IP that both enhance and potentially expand the business model; A sound understanding of the IP position and landscape of existing and potential competitors. We are looking to make investments in private companies in the areas of technology, manufacturing, software, medical devices, & healthcare services in which the business model is heavily dependent on or enhanced by strong intellectual property strategies. Typically these companies have gone beyond or are near the proof of concept (POC) phase and product visibility is such that having the IP portion of the business strategy pinned down and in place is critical. We focus on all technology sectors except biotech & pharma.
