I’ve spent over 50 years mentoring founders and transforming early-stage companies into global technology powerhouses. As General Partner and Chair of B Capital, I guide entrepreneurs across our portfolio, helping them scale their businesses and remain at the forefront of innovation. Before B Capital, I co-founded First Round Capital, the first professional stage seed fund, and played a key role in building Idealab, the longest-running technology incubator. Earlier in my business career, I had the honor of serving as the Founding President of Renaissance Technologies, the renowned quant-focused hedge fund. Prior to that, I spent 14 years in the academic world, mostly as a Professor at UPenn’s Wharton and Moore Schools. Throughout my career, I’ve stayed passionate about supporting visionary founders as they develop the technologies that shape the future. Some of those technologies today that I am excited about investing in include Space, Brain Computer Interface and Quantum, along with how AI is impacting every part of our lives.
