The House Fund is a pre-seed and early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to startups founded by UC Berkeley alumni, faculty, and students. Established in 2016, it positions itself as the “home for Berkeley’s boldest founders,” aiming to back companies at inception and help them scale from idea to impact. The firm has a strong focus on AI, technology, and consumer innovation, with initiatives like the BAIR Grant to support Berkeley AI researchers. It has invested in over 100 startups, with more than $5.2 billion in follow-on capital raised, 20 exits, and 7 unicorns to date. Notable portfolio companies include Ayar Labs, PsiQuantum, Superhuman, Savvy Wealth, Silna Health, and Perceptis. The House Fund typically writes checks of up to $1 million at pre-seed and up to $2 million at seed stage, often acting as the first investor or co-leading rounds.
