High Park Angels

About High Park Angels

High Park Angels Fund is an angel and pre-seed investment fund backing ambitious founders at the earliest stage, from Toronto's High Park neighborhood and beyond. The fund is based in Toronto, Canada, and led by General Partners Mark Hyland and Patrick Hyland. The fund operates as a collective of Canadian angel investors, employing a "people-first" investment model that pairs capital with operating expertise, strategic connections, and hands-on guidance for scaling founders. Its focus centers on early-stage B2B technology companies, particularly within "future-of-work" and "future-of-local" themes, spanning sectors like energy storage, robotics, proptech, AI, and media infrastructure. Typical investments range from $25,000 to $150,000, on pre-money valuations up to CAD $5 million. Fund I has made 11 disclosed investments and is now fully invested, no longer accepting new pitches. Portfolio companies include Troes Corp, Pinkbot (formerly Tiny Mile), BuyProperly, Vumo, Distributed Media Lab, and Blueberry X, with past exits including Obie.ai (acquired by Lessonly, later Seismic) and FieldChat, sold to a US-based tech company in 2022.
