Hard Climate is the first venture studio dedicated to developing hard industrial climate technologies. Venture studios typically serve three functions in the innovation ecosystem. 1) Scout and spin-out technologies from laboratories. 2) De-risk early-stage startups as operational co-founders. 3) Invest capital and promote the commercial maturation of tech solutions. For our investors, this translates to improved ROI and returns through increased success rates and diversified exit strategies. At Hard Climate, we designed a new playbook to specifically address industrial hard tech. By tackling grand challenges in energy and decarbonization, we look to have dual bottom line returns (outsized environmental impact and strong financial returns).
