Golden Leaf SITE Program

Golden LEAF recognizes the importance of having development sites available in rural and economically distressed communities in order to attract new businesses and expand existing ones. To meet this need, Golden LEAF established the SITE Program. Golden LEAF will assist communities in identifying potential industrial sites for economic development, completing due diligence on previously identified industrial sites, and extending public utilities to or conducting grading and clearing of industrial sites for which due diligence has been completed. Golden LEAF will accept applications from organizations in all counties, but will prioritize awards in counties that have been persistently economically distressed (as determined by the N.C. Department of Commerce's County Tier status), as well as economically distressed, rural, and tobacco-dependent communities.
