Generation Ventures is the venture arm of Generation Capital, a family office based in Toronto, Canada. Through Generation Ventures, we fund leading VCs in Canada, the US, and China, and we make a commensurate amount of direct investments. Generation Ventures is managed by a multi-disciplinary team that supports our active investment posture. We will invest early, we will invest late. We can lead the deal, we can follow. We have an investment thesis, but won't be slaves to it. Without fail, we invest in people - smart, experienced, and above all else, honest people. We think of our portfolio as a portfolio of trusted relationships, and we build accordingly. Yes we focus on smart things, yes we look for smart investors, but first and foremost every investment we make is built on mutual trust and shared values with management. Can we rely on each other to be open and transparent? Can we count on each other to do what we say we will do? Can we have faith in each other to work hard and act ethically?
