Garage Capital

About Garage Capital

Garage Capital is a venture capital firm founded in 2013, based in Waterloo, Canada, built by founders, for founders. It helps best-in-class Canadian and Y Combinator startups jump from garage to growth, investing in founders at the earliest stages. The team consists of Waterloo Engineering operators who have themselves built, scaled, and sold venture-backed companies, understanding the value of experience-based advice because they've been in founders' shoes, helping portfolio companies build category-defining businesses. Garage has invested in over 250 companies with a collective valuation exceeding $30 billion, spanning consumer, enterprise, and "moonshot" categories. Notable investments include Groq, Substack, Astranis, Kepler Communications, ApplyBoard, Clearpath Robotics, and BetterUp, with exits including Embark Trucks, North (acquired by Google), and DarwinAI (acquired by Apple).
