Target businesses share the following characteristics: Attractive industry segment Strong, defensible market position History of growth and clearly identifiable future growth opportunities Experienced and proven management team Consistent profitability and cash flow Limited technology risk We are industry agnostic, but we have significant experience in the following areas: Industrials/Manufacturing Business Services Consumer/Retail We will consider both majority and minority investments. We avoid businesses where we perceive there to be technology or business model risk over a medium to long-term horizon. We believe in forming true partnerships with the owners and managers of the companies in which we invest. FPH invests in family and founder-owned businesses as well as businesses with significant management ownership. We believe our experience and long-term orientation is particularly well suited to the following situations: -Owners looking to diversify their wealth or plan for succession through the sale of 20-80% of their business. -Owners concerned about the legacy of the family business and the well being of their employees. -Owners interested in bringing on a financial and operating partner in connection with the acquisition of a complementary business. -Shareholders interested in selling a stake in their business over time through a series of transactions. -Managers looking for growth capital to enter new markets, make acquisitions, or expand product lines.
