Doon Capital

Doon Capital is Howard Chao's personal investment vehicle, through which he makes early-stage tech investments, usually in collaboration with a network of institutional investors, based in Silicon Valley. Chao began his career as a corporate lawyer at O'Melveny & Myers, where he chaired the firm's Asia Practice and helped establish its offices in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Beijing. Chao maintains close working relationships with various venture funds and strategic investors across his focus areas, primarily investing in startups located in the U.S. and China. He is also a Senior Advisory Partner with ShoreVest Partners, a leading distressed investment fund group in China. His focus spans ag and food tech, mobility tech, legal and reg tech, fintech, and crypto, with over 60 startup investments made over the past 11 years. Notable portfolio companies include Apeel, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Afresh, Kin, HaydenAI, and CellLink.
