Cosmic Venture Partners
About Cosmic Venture Partners
Cosmic Venture Partners is an early-stage, operator-led venture capital firm investing in the next generation of consumer platforms, products, and services. Founded in 2021, the firm maintains a distributed presence across New York, Los Angeles, and Austin, and is co-founded by Alexandra Tynion, Brian McNamara, and Matthew Rutler.
The team combines fintech, entertainment, and Wall Street backgrounds: Tynion brings payments and fundraising-platform experience from Circle Financial and SeedInvest; Rutler, an EVP at MasterClass and angel investor in 100+ startups, contributes scaling and creator-economy insight; and McNamara, an MBA from Columbia with a background at Jefferies, adds capital markets expertise.
Cosmic invests across software-driven and operationally complex physical consumer businesses, spanning climate, AI, hardware, food and beverage, gaming, fintech, and media, primarily at seed and pre-seed with selective Series A participation. Fund I portfolio companies include 12 Tides, Arrive, Breakr, Conjure, Cuddle, Popchew, Smash Kitchen, Windmill, and Nitrode, alongside notable syndicate exposure to Anduril, Discord, OpenAI, Perplexity, and SpaceX; exits include Nue Life.
The firm's approach centers on hands-on operational support, leveraging its team's diverse network across entertainment, finance, and startup ecosystems to help portfolio companies scale beyond capital alone.
