Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Grants
About Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Grants
The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is a dependent taxing district established by the City of Clearwater government for the purpose of carrying out redevelopment activities within our designated community areas.
The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) offers grant programs to assist those within the Downtown and North Greenwood community redevelopment areas.
▪ DTCRA Commercial Grant Program
The Community Redevelopment Agency has streamlined our Downtown Clearwater Community Redevelopment Area Commercial Grant Program. Applicants can now apply for one grant program and select the best option for their business needs and project size. The grant opportunities offer varying levels of support and address both short—and long-term challenges that commercial stakeholders have experienced in Downtown Clearwater.
▪ NGCRA Residential Exterior Improvement Grant
The North Greenwood Residential Exterior Improvement Grant is designed to increase access to redevelopment funding for residential improvements to homesteaded single-family homes in the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area. The purpose of the program is to rehabilitate single-family homes, improve property conditions and aesthetics, reduce housing cost burden, and aid in the elimination of slums and blight.
▪ NGCRA Commercial Grant
The North Greenwood Commercial Grant is designed to promote reinvestment in business development and incentivize commercial property owners and business owners located within the North Greenwood Community Redevelopment Area to make building, structural, and site improvements to their property. In addition, the program will aid in creating a positive visual impact on the image and character of the community.
