Community Foundation Competitive Grants (Buffalo, NY)

About Community Foundation Competitive Grants (Buffalo, NY)

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, which has been around for over a century, is dedicated to making grants that have the greatest impact on the eight counties of Western New York while also meeting four community goals. The Board of Directors chose these goals after conducting a thorough strategic planning process that included community input as well as the most current data and information available. These goals are as follows: I. Achieve racial and ethnic equity. II. Increase economic mobility among low-income residents through educational achievement. III. Protect critical environmental resources in the context of climate resilience. IV. Encourage regional vibrancy through architecture, arts, and culture. Special funding is available for the following: Programs for the visually, speech, or hearing impaired (~$5,000) This funding will be prioritized for requests that align with one or more of the four community goals. The historical average for a competitive grant through this process is between $18,000 and $20,000.
