Chaparal Investments

Chaparal Investments is a private investment firm based in Los Angeles, California. The firm was founded by Robert D. Beyer in 2009. He is both the Founder and Chairman of Chaparal Investments. He was most recently Executive Chairman of Crescent Acquisition Corp, a special-purpose acquisition company that successfully completed its public company merger in 2021. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of The TCW Group, Inc., a diversified, global investment management firm with assets in excess of $150 billion. During his tenure as President and CEO, the firm achieved record assets under management, which doubled, and profitability, which tripled. In 2001, TCW was sold to Société Générale Asset Management, at which time Bob joined the executive committee of the parent company, then one of the world’s 25 largest asset managers.
