Carl Fairbank, Angel Investor

Carl Fairbank is a serial entrepreneur and early-stage investor in financial technology & advanced technology verticals, with a primary focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain. Mr. Fairbank has founded and/or led several companies and has a personal portfolio of investments run through boldMODE. Most recently, Mr. Fairbank sold his largest company, Breakout Capital, in July 2019 to SecurCapital. Mr. Fairbank currently is Co-Founder & CEO of LightCrest Capital Management, an asset management firm based in the Washington DC Metro Area. Following a decade as an investment banker in the FinTech space, in 2015, Mr. Fairbank founded Breakout Capital, a FinTech company focused on smb lending. Mr. Fairbank also founded CRF Ventures (dba boldMODE), an early-stage high-tech investment fund that, today, owns interests in approximately 30 companies across a variety of industries. In July 2019, Mr. Fairbank sold Breakout Capital to SecurCapital, a logistics and financial services company. As CEO for four years of Breakout Capital, Mr. Fairbank drove revenue at a CAGR of 255% and introduced more than a dozen new products to the industry, most notably FactorAdvantage, which has the potential to lower costs and change the entire industry of smb lending.
