Starting in 1999, I had a vision of building a large online media business focused on publishing premium content in high-demand affinity areas, building community and interactivity among consumers. Along the way, as a company, we had to become experts in content, audience, sales & marketing, packaging, and product. We have acquired more than 50 web properties/businesses, bought and sold a dozen more, all the while building a diversified digital vertical publishing and media company. Not satisfied with simply producing great content and leading destinations for communities of like-minded consumers, we strived to buy or build all of the attendant ad and pub tech necessary for publishing online. Over the years, I have invested in dozens of Internet start-ups, advising on boards and generally lending support to entrepreneurs. It's my love for this industry and my business that pushes me to continue to operate and grow the same business I started in 1999, and help others along the way.
