Brenda Kurnik, Angel Investor

I was recognized internationally for my work in the area of radio-contrast-induced acute renal failure. I am a former President of the New Jersey Nephrology Society and have been listed repeatedly as a “Top Doc” in Philadelphia magazine as well as in southern New Jersey publications. In 2005 I left academics for private practice. I then partnered with two national dialysis corporations and opened three “state-of-the-art” dialysis centers. The first center was with DSI Corporation. I served as Senior Vice President for Business Development and Government Relations for DSI. All three dialysis centers focused on patient comfort as well as care. I have always been a strong proponent of home dialysis, when possible. More recently I was a principal and investor at Sanderling Renal Services, a company that offers “tele-nephrology” services to rural hospitals. I personally piloted the program from 2014 -2017 and we presented our findings at the American Society of Nephrology annual meeting. I have been a very active member of Robinhood Angel Investors since 2020. I enjoy mentoring young entrepreneurs and assisting young companies through the RH group as well as the NJ Life Sciences collaborative.
