Blackbird is a venture capital fund based in Australia and New Zealand. We invest in every type of technology from software to space, unified by the biggest of ambitions. We back generational ambition with generational belief by raising funds, investing in the best startup companies all the way through their journey from idea to beyond IPO. Our portfolio is worth over $9B and includes some of the most successful Aussie and Kiwi startups, including Canva, Zoox, SafetyCulture, Culture Amp and Halter. We believe that giant leaps forward are made by a passionate few, so we invest in founders, not sectors or stages. Our companies are united only by their ambition to tackle the world’s greatest problems, led by founders who are doing their life’s work. Blackbird is a startup and will always be run as a startup. Our style, our office, our events, and our communications relate to the founders we back. Founders come first; they are our reason for being. We work for our founders; they don’t work for us. Building iconic businesses takes the best part of a decade  or longer. We don’t plan for exits.
