The seed of Barcelona Ventures started up in April 2012 when its founder went to San Francisco for a prospecting trip of 3 months. There he saw the need for a large number of European tech companies to raise financing and that they would go to Silicon Valley to launch their businesses and seek such funding if there was a more customized, leaner and safer way to do it.
