Applied Equity

Applied Equity is a private investment partnership based in Boston and New York that invests in search funds and early-stage growth companies, and has been a search fund investor since 2004. It complements institutional investors as a principal investor with a long-term hold perspective. Its partners are former McKinsey senior partners who coach searchers through a unique expert-mentor model, with monthly and ad hoc check-ins on industry selection, seller trust, deal pricing and structure, key bets, and diligence before and after LOI. It focuses on B2B services with compliance requirements, tech-enabled services, vertical and niche horizontal software, healthcare practices, services and technology, and multi-unit rollouts and rollups. Investments include Cerbo, MeterNet, Luggage Forward, Sayres Defense, Ennoble Care, dotCMS and Swoogo, plus venture investments in Jebbit and Sift Healthcare.
