Amr Awadallah, Angel Investor

Amr Awadallah is the Founder and CEO of Vectara, a trusted GenAI platform helping businesses safely apply large language models to their own data. With over 25 years of experience in AI and scalable systems, he leads efforts to make enterprise AI adoption more reliable, transparent, and secure. Before founding Vectara, Awadallah was VP of Developer Relations at Google Cloud and previously co-founded Cloudera, where he served as Global CTO for over a decade. His work at Cloudera helped popularize open-source big data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark. Awadallah is also an active angel investor with about twenty investments across AI, data infrastructure, and developer platforms. His portfolio includes companies such as PlayAI, AppFlowy, Nextdata, Qdrant, and Synapse Analytics, primarily in seed and early-stage rounds. His investments reflect a strong focus on empowering builders of the next generation of intelligent and scalable software systems.
