Amiram Shachar is the Co‑Founder and CEO of Upwind Security, a cloud security company launched in 2022. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager of Spot by NetApp, after NetApp acquired his earlier venture Spot.io, which optimized cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Earlier in his career, Amiram led development operations at Ybrant Digital (Lycos) and served as a team leader in the IDF’s Cyber Defense Directorate, where he specialized in Linux kernel engineering. His career reflects a consistent focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, and cybersecurity. As an angel investor, Amiram has backed startups in cloud, AI, and infrastructure. His investments include PointFive (cloud optimization), Helios (developer tools), and Pery (AI productivity), reflecting his interest in platforms that enhance efficiency and resilience in modern computing.
