Akre Capital Management invests in a small number of what we believe to be extraordinary businesses that are run by talented and honest managers who wisely invest in free cash flow. We call this intuitive, enduring approach our "three-legged stool." The firm manages several hundred million dollars in two concentrated long/short equity private investment funds. The onshore partnership began in October 1993, and the offshore fund was launched in January 2004. The investment goal of the private funds is to compound our investors’ capital at above-average rates of return over extended periods of time while managing downside risk and opportunistically taking advantage of dislocations in the market.
