Accion is a global nonprofit founded in 1961, on a mission to create a fair and inclusive economy by developing and scaling responsible digital financial solutions for underserved people. It is a leading early-stage investor in fintech for inclusion and manages $475.8 million in impact assets through Accion Impact Management. It makes equity and quasi-equity investments from pre-seed to growth stage, prioritizing South and Southeast Asia, Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the United States. Accion Ventures, formerly Accion Venture Lab, closed a second fund of about $61.6 million for early-stage fintech startups worldwide, and invests alongside Quona through the Accion Quona Partnership. Accion Emerge invests in growth-stage companies in embedded finance, agritech, and the future of work, and Accion Digital Transformation provides growth capital for digitally transforming financial institutions. Investments include Field Intelligence, Khazna, and Joust. Accion Advisory designs and deploys new digital financial products, and the Center for Financial Inclusion publishes research. Accion looks for innovative companies with the potential to reach large numbers of underserved people, supporting them with capital, strategic governance, and advice. It focuses on social impact and systems-level change, and supports portfolio companies from board governance to access to markets.
