The Allen Angel Capital Education Program is a student group of mid-Missouri investors. AACE is a cross-disciplinary, student-managed angel investment fund open to both undergraduate and graduate students and all majors across the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Students invest in high-growth start-up companies by cultivating deal flow, performing pre-screening duties, completing due diligence, and structuring investment contracts. After an equity position is taken, the program will monitor portfolio holdings and harvest investments.
The AACE Venture Fund is made up of 15-20 cross-disciplinary students each semester. The fund has approximately $700,000 in assets under management, with most of it deployed to its fifteen portfolio companies.
This structure offers students a rare experiential learning opportunity, functioning as a real-life venture capital firm by participating in live venture deals.
