Hello, my name is Channon Brooks, I am a young woman who is highly motivated and very ambitious. I discovered my passion for hair care at the young age of 13. My grandmothers would allow me to style their hair as part of our bonding time; from there, I enjoyed it. I continued to develop my craft through high school and college.
After I completed my degree in Business Administration, I shifted my focus and worked in telecommunications for 13 years before reimagining my gifts and talents. Once I became a wife and mother, and with the push of my family, especially my parents and husband, I decided to focus on my vision of becoming an entrepreneur and professional in the haircare industry.
I have been featured in Nashville Voyager magazine as a Hidden Gem in my community, had an interview segment on the Nashville 92Q radio show, where they discussed the effects of covid -19 on hair and scalp conditions, and WGNS to talk about entrepreneurship. Recently, I was awarded Female Mogul of the Year 2022 by Iota Phi Lambda Epsilon Psi business sorority. Currently, I participate in the One Million Black Women in Business presented by the Goldman Sachs program.
Our vision as a company, our primary objective is to position Yours Truly to be the leading brand in the beauty industry, leading as one of the top hair salon businesses in the entire state. We will achieve this by allowing independent hair stylists, nail, and eyelash techs to work in a close private setting with their clients as well as have an onsite training facility for licensed beauty professionals to learn about the studies of trichology (the study of the hair and scalp).
