BUSINESS PROPOSAL
Independent Trucking Venture
Prepared by:
Eric Harrison & Chase Hookham
To Whom It May Concern:
We are pleased to present this business proposal for the establishment of an independent trucking company operated by Eric Harrison and Chase Hookham. We are two hardworking, determined individuals with extensive hands-on experience in the trucking industry, including logging, lowboy/lowbed, flatbed, dirt hauling, and livestock transportation.
After years of working under other companies and gaining valuable experience in the industry, we believe the time is right to take the next step and build a trucking business of our own. Our goal is to establish a dependable, professional, and profitable operation that can grow over time while providing quality service to our customers.
Our Experience
Between the two of us, we bring substantial experience operating heavy trucks and working in demanding areas of the trucking industry. We understand the importance of safety, reliability, equipment maintenance, time management, and completing jobs efficiently.
Our experience includes:
• Logging and log hauling
• Lowbed/lowboy operations
• Flatbed hauling
• Dirt and aggregate hauling
• Livestock transportation
• Heavy equipment transportation
• General trucking operations
This experience has given us a strong understanding of the demands of the industry and the importance of keeping equipment working, meeting deadlines, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors.
Equipment
Eric currently operates a well-equipped 2019 Peterbilt 389 Long Hood, powered by a 605-horsepower X15 Cummins engine with an 18-speed transmission and logging gearing. This truck is already configured and ready to work.
Our plan is to purchase an additional truck to begin operating with two trucks. We have identified a 2013 Peterbilt 389 Long Hood, equipped with a 565-horsepower X15 Cummins engine, 18-speed transmission, and logging gearing, which would be well suited for the type of work we intend to pursue.
Having two capable trucks from the beginning will allow us to take on additional work, increase revenue, and establish a stronger foundation for the company.
Business Objective
Our objective is not simply to purchase trucks and begin hauling. We intend to build a long-term, sustainable trucking company based on hard work, reliability, responsible equipment management, and customer relationships.
We understand that owning and operating a trucking company comes with significant responsibility and risk. Trucks require constant maintenance, fuel costs fluctuate, freight markets change, and unexpected repairs can occur. We are prepared for those challenges because we have spent years working in the industry and understand what it takes to keep trucks moving and jobs completed.
We also believe that our ability to work across multiple areas of trucking gives us an advantage. If opportunities change within one sector, we can utilize our experience in logging, lowbed, flatbed, dirt, livestock, and other heavy-hauling operations to pursue additional work.
Why We Believe This Business Can Succeed
The trucking industry continues to require experienced operators who are capable of handling specialized equipment and demanding loads. Our experience gives us the practical knowledge necessary to enter this business with a realistic understanding of the work involved.
We are not entering this industry without experience. We are taking the experience we have already gained and applying it toward building something of our own.
Our strengths include:
• Extensive hands-on trucking experience
• Experience with multiple types of freight and equipment
• Knowledge of heavy-duty truck operation
• Ability to perform demanding work safely and efficiently
• Existing knowledge of the trucking industry
• Strong work ethic and determination
• The ability to adapt to different types of hauling opportunities
• A commitment to maintaining our equipment and protecting the investment
Long-Term Vision
Our initial goal is to operate two trucks successfully and establish a dependable customer base. As the company becomes established and financially stable, we would like to expand the fleet and create additional opportunities for growth.
We believe that starting with two trucks provides a manageable foundation while still allowing the company to generate meaningful revenue. Our long-term vision is to grow responsibly rather than expanding faster than the business can support.
We want to build a company that can provide stable employment, maintain quality equipment, develop lasting customer relationships, and remain profitable for many years.
Conclusion
Eric Harrison and Chase Hookham are seeking the opportunity to take our combined trucking experience and turn it into an independent business. We understand both the opportunities and challenges associated with the trucking industry, and we are prepared to put in the time, work, and effort required to make this venture successful.
We are requesting approximately $500,000 in funding to provide the capital necessary to acquire equipment, establish operations, and maintain sufficient working capital during the early stages of the business.
We believe this investment would provide us with the foundation needed to build a profitable and sustainable trucking company. We are confident in our experience, our work ethic, and our ability to identify and pursue opportunities within the industry.
We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this proposal in greater detail and provide additional information regarding our business plan, projected expenses, equipment, revenue expectations, and operational strategy.
Respectfully,
Eric Harrison
