About Me:
I’ve designed this multi use entertainment center to best serve all ages in the community of Hays, Ks. We have a huge pull factor as all surrounding communities are small with few services. Using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, I have designed this center to service children from birth to late adulthood. Many truckers are traveling with their families and need to expanded services and entertainment options for ALL AGES! After driving for 70 hours in one week, truckers have to park and not drive the rigs for 34/hours. We are designing the entertainment center to serve ALL and make it a preferred stop in Kansas for the trucking community. We are strategically located half way between Denver and Kansas City, yet we do not have a good trucking plaza for the trucking community.
The adjacent property to the East is a large recreational space for all to use free of charge!
Most buildings will be portable so they can be relocated when major events like concerts, festivals, Carnivals, etc. are scheduled. All but 2 acres are outside the city limits. Portable showers, communal kitchen, outhouses, etc. will not incur Ellis County Taxes.
This entertainment center is the brain child of myself, Dr. Judy A. Nixon. I’m a retired Teacher and Professor at Fort Hays State University. I was a licensed teacher from birth to 9 grade regular and special education. My post doctoral work was completion of all the courses to be licensed at the Superintendent of Special Education running a school district special education mandated services. I also completed the coursework to be licensed as an English as a Second Language Instruction. In the past, I also designed, built, directed and taught at the largest Preschool facility servicing over 100 children 2.5 to 6 years of age each semester, plus summer school options years ago before moving to higher education and getting my doctorate at KSU. I also taught swimming lessons for 22 years. I will have swimming lessons available to families as well.
I also successfully ran a Metal Fabrication Business and helped run a commercial roofing company for years. . I also was Vice President Secretary Treasurer for R.P. Nixon Operations, an oiled production and services company in Hays, Ks.
My fiancé, Tony Stroup, owns and operates a Petroleum Oil Company and Big Creek Transportation. He is an award winning CDL trainer and loves helping others learn how to successfully and safely drive 18 wheelers. He will be helping in the trucker training program. I am training to get my CDL so I can teach in the school as well. Tony has completed all but one course to be a licensed Christian Counselor. We are both going to complete our training to become ordained ministers during the next calendar year.
This is a start up business that is in the process of trying to purchase the 8 acres at acres at this time. I will be seeking local investors as well. Being in the oil business for years, I know most of the wealthy investors in this community as I moved here in 1976. I know many wealthy people who want to Grow Hays as well!
