I am operating a business that completes auto repair and trains new mechanics. We have a round of funding, a grant, coming in August but are looking for a bridge to get to that funding.
Our mission is to provide education and practical experience for young people in the ways of automotive repair, teaching life skills and giving all the people in our organization on opportunity to better themselves.
The automotive repair industry estimates there to be a shortage of over 1 million qualified technicians in the US right now. Calypso Cars is creating a pathway for young people to become educated and gain experience in many aspects required by automotive technicians. We believe we can create a model, working with local educational resources and automotive businesses, that will provide our graduates with both a strong education and an open job market. We further believe that this model is portable and repeatable and will eventually be able to replicate this in other locations.
