We currently foster children with special needs. We have had up to 6 children in our home at one time. We've provided care for a total of twelve kids over the past 5 years. Currently we house and provide services for two young women and one adolescent male. Our role, in addition to providing room and board, is to provide a loving, caring home where these children can receive treatment services that assist them to live a better more full life. We arrange and provide treatments like occupational, speech, and physical therapies. We have been utilizing Adaptive Behavioral Therapy as well to give our children "tools" to utilize when coping with peers and stressful situations. It is our role to coordinate school activities and extracurricular activities. We enjoy taking our kids on adventure outings (boating, hiking, travel, ect.). Our kids also participate in the Special Olympics, Miracle League, and other sporting activities. We have seen huge success within our home and now are looking to provide a service to our community that is lacking. We are raising funds to open a 24 hour residential home in our local community for special needs children that require a higher level of care. The closet residential home for these children is 5 hours on the other side of the state. There are at least 50 children on a wait list to get into these facilities at any given time. Our community is in real need of a residential home.

Molli Vineyard is a retired Special Education teacher and Director of Special Education at the local community college. She holds a Master's degree from EOU in Special Education and handles all the therapies and special needs activities. I (Chad Vineyard) is holds a B.S. in Outdoor Recreation and is a Professional Firefighter and EMT. I am actively engaged in providing fun outdoor recreational activities for these kids to promote a healthy, active, more fulfilling lifestyle. We currently employee 3 of our 5 bio children to assist in daily duties and care. We would be looking to hire 6 more full and part-time staff.

Our new residential home would be available to house up to 5 children. These children would be welcome from all over the state of Oregon. Their ages would range from 5 to 17 years of age and their disabilities would vary. Each child would receive specialized care unique to them with a detailed ISP and Behavior plan in place. Each child has their own room and a detailed plan outlining care and activities. Our goal is to enhance their lives so that they live the fullest for them.

I extend an invitation to you to assist us in providing this needed service to our community and state. The reward pays out again and again when seeing these thrive. Thank you.
