CUSTOMER PROBLEM
America’s infrastructure is crumbling. We rely on infrastructure inspection of pipelines and electrical lines to identify and prevent these crises. Inspecting infrastructure currently requires a manned crew rappelling, heavy machinery, or pilots flying helicopters dangerously close to power lines. It's expensive, time-consuming, polluting, dangerous, and inconsistent.
TARGET MARKET
Verteel’s target market is investor-owned linear utilities that have high societal or economic costs with service disruptions. Investor-owned utilities tend to subcontract their services out so they can focus on their core business. Verteel's SOM is approximately 25% of the US high-voltage transmission lines with an ARR of $60M. The TAM for UAV inspection is expected to be $8.6B at 16.4% CAGR and $32.1B at 43.4% CAGR for the UAV market by 2031.
CUSTOMER SEGMENTS
Verteel has a customer LOI from an engineering service firm that has contracts with the largest energy companies in the Northeastern US. Through subcontracting agreements, Verteel will focus on UAV collection operations, while the engineering partner interprets the data. This allows Verteel to navigate the contract cycle and focus on scaling. Once established, Verteel can inspect other infrastructure like pipelines and wind farms.
BUSINESS MODEL
Verteel will operate one of the industry’s most advanced semi-autonomous UAV flight operations. Verteel is unique in UAV utility inspection by offering a full-stack, turn-key solution that includes collection, data management, AI interpretation, and project management. Unlike competitors, Verteel integrates best-in-class technology, partnerships, and operational expertise to offer a complete inspection service.
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Verteel has a unique opportunity to acquire the most technologically advanced autonomous inspection UAVs in the global market at a deep discount through a bankruptcy sale. This positions Verteel with the best technology in the market, combined with expert management, and team members recruited from a previous competitor. Verteel is the only UAV inspection service combining autonomous flight with AI interpretation and turnkey project management.
SERVICE
Verteel evaluates customer inspection requirements and deploys semi-autonomous inspection drones. They are equipped with integrated sensors for ROW, RGB, IR, LIDAR. The data is interpreted with AI then handed off to a partner for project management. The service identifies 20% more issues, is 3x faster, uses 87% less manpower, 90% CO2 reduction, 99% quieter, and is far safer than the legacy solution of using helicopters and climbers.
SALES & MARKETING STRATEGY
Verteel's customer acquisition strategy is to work as a subcontractor for an engineering service firm that has contracts with the largest investor-owned utilities in the Northeastern US. Utility inspection service contracts are sticky once acquired. Verteel has also signed an advisory agreement with the VP of Business Development of a previous competitor who will work to re-establish service with previous utility customers.
COMPETITORS
95% of high voltage lines in the US are inspected with helicopters—this is the main competition. However, 3 UAV inspection competitors: Valmont, Percepto, and smaller regional operators like Soaring Eagle Technologies. Valmont is a tower manufacturer that offers inspection as an add-on service. Percepto is an AI-enabled inspection software
company that is not capable of operating UAVs. Soaring Eagle is smaller, not autonomous, or AI-enabled.
