VeloJect, LLC. was created by Dr. Robert Mayle, MD, an Orthopedic Surgeon in San Francisco, CA who specializes in hip and knee replacements. VeloJect, LLC. has developed a way to automate the injection of local anesthetic in the operating room and clinic. We have 3 patents, with multiple patents pending. Our technology aims to replace the way local anesthetics are injected into soft tissue in the operating room. Dr. Mayle conceived of this product after observing the difficulty that surgeons encounter when injecting local anesthetics into tissues of varying resistance. There are multiple long acting local anesthetics that either are too viscous too inject, or are expanded into large volumes with recommendations of injection through extremely small bore needles. Surgeons create work arounds to administer these medications, thereby lessening their efficacy. Post-operative pain control is critical to lessen pain, reduce opioid consumption, mobilize patients, and to aid in transitioning cases to outpatient procedures. Moreover, injecting tissues of varying resistance with small bore needles is extremely taxing on surgeons hands, and over time can lead to repetitive injury to a surgeon's hands.

Our company has created an engineering, quality, legal and regulatory divisions. We have identified a predicate device and have started the 510k process, currently through phase I. We have identified a contract manufacturer and are to begin this process once we have secured additional funding.

We have conducted end-user evaluations, have presented our device at a national meeting and have received extremely positive feedback.

This device has application in the operating room and clinic. There is a reusable hand piece, with a modular disposable upper fluid portion. We have identified over 37M surgical cases that could utilize this technology. There are millions of injections that are performed in the office setting that could also benefit from this technology.

We are streamlined, focused, have extensive connections in the Orthopedic space, and are determined to bring this revolutionary, much needed, technology to market.
