Urban Restoration Counseling Center is committed to providing no cost to low-cost therapy services for communities of color. Urban Restoration Counseling Center has developed an innovative, two-pronged, mutually reinforcing solution, which is Therapy for ALL (TFA) and Reset InterGenerational Healing Training (RIGHT) program. Both TFA and RIGHT programs work synergistically as the disruptive solution that San Diego County needs to break the unhealthy cognitive and behavioral patterns which maintain the cycle of intergenerational trauma that plagues BIPOC communities. TFA and RIGHT shift the mindset of BIPOC community members and resolves systemic issues by increasing access to qualified BIPOC mental health providers that specialize in healing intergenerational trauma. TFA educates BIPOC communities about the dangers of ignoring their mental health and train mental health providers, as well as, people who serve BIPOC communities to create healing spaces that disrupt the cycle of intergenerational trauma.

Through TFA, clients gain access to BIPOC mental health providers, increase the value placed on mental health, and create an intergenerational legacy of healing for San Diego County's BIPOC residents.

TFA provides no/low-cost mental health and case management services to members of the BIPOC community. TFA’s pilot year, 2019 resulted in 26 clients receiving 191 sessions; in 2020 the number of clients and sessions more than doubled, and TFA clinicians provided 589 sessions to 92 clients. In 2021, TFA doubled those numbers again to 178 clients and 1777 sessions. As of 11/10/22, TFA has provided 2592 sessions to 269 clients.

The RIGHT program is a clinical training program that highlights safety, cultural appreciation, and mutual cognizance of the values and needs of BIPOC clients and clinicians.
URCC’s TFA program allows URCC to serve historically marginalized communities by providing no-cost/low-cost mental health and case management services.

URCC’s RIGHT clinical training program partners with colleges and universities at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. The RIGHT program equips budding BIPOC student clinicians and mental health professionals with business development training, tools to serve clients who are part of the BIPOC community, and training in healing intergenerational trauma.

The RIGHT Program is URCC’s clinical training program for unlicensed clinicians. The RIGHT program is disruptive because the Clinical Training Platform educates BIPOC clinicians and people who serve BIPOC communities on how to create healing spaces that break the cycle of intergenerational trauma. URCC utilizes mental health providers at all stages of licensure to create a pipeline for future generations of BIPOC healers specializing in evidence-based practices designed to treat trauma passed down throughout BIPOC families. URCC partners with various colleges including San Diego State University, Pepperdine University, Northwestern University, University of San Diego, and more. With each passing year, URCC will use the clinicians to educate BIPOC communities about the dangers of ignoring their mental health which will eventually break the cycle of intergenerational trauma. Lastly, when the student clinician becomes a Clinical Supervisor the cycle of education continues because that student has now become the trainer and educator for the next generation of healers. Since 2019, a majority (78%) of the RIGHT program student clinicians have been from the BIPOC community, and of the 8 student clinicians who met their graduation requirements, 5 have applied to become California BBS registered Associate Clinicians.
