Urban Nomad – Scalable Hostels for the Next Generation of Travellers
Overview
Urban Nomad is a growing boutique hostel brand designed for Gen Z and Millennial travellers seeking comfort, affordability, and community. We combine capsule-style beds, digital self-check-in, and vibrant bar spaces to deliver a high-margin, low-overhead model across prime city locations.
With two established hostels in Sydney and a third under development in London, we’re now raising funds to:
1. Upgrade guest facilities at Urban Nomad Kings Cross (Sydney), including capsule bed installations and communal area improvements.
2. Fit out the licensed basement bar at Urban Nomad Camden (London), transforming it into a high-revenue social venue.
3. Launch a 4th Urban Nomad location in Australia, leveraging existing team, systems, and brand recognition.
Business Model
Urban Nomad operates lean, design-led hostels that combine accommodation, F&B, and events under one brand. Revenue streams include bed nights, bar and café sales, and curated guest experiences. Automation, low staffing ratios, and modular design keep operating costs low while delivering high guest satisfaction.
Performance Snapshot
Potts Point (Sydney): 104 beds, AUD $900K turnover.
Kings Cross (Sydney): 96 beds, AUD $1.1M turnover and growing.
Camden (London): 75–90 beds with a 3AM bar licence; projected £1.7M turnover in year one.

The Team
Urban Nomad was founded by Todd Jeffress, who scaled from a single Airbnb in 2015 to managing over 60 properties and now leads a multi-site hostel operation across two continents. The team brings deep expertise in hospitality, F&B, and operational scaling.
