Our Story: Our leadership makeup consists of Business Strategy, Technology, and deep Diversity & Inclusion experience. We wanted to be a voice to the millions of professionals who suffer from hiring companies and individuals that see applicants names, faces, or demographic information and use that as a factor in the hiring process, something that impairs our decision-making within the first 10 seconds of seeing them.

Competitive Advantage: Our tool blinds individuals/companies/ universities from seeing a person's (name, age, demographic information) prior to interview & assists in assessing actual
performance in various soft/hard skill virtual modules while also assessing the participants own biases and how it can impact performance in various domains. This helps hiring companies/universities and individuals hire/admit based on ability while also assessing relative risk, if they hire an individual that makes large biased decisions that could impact company profit/or brand. Currently, biased hiring is not only impacting our ability to innovate, but the overall brand of the company or university system because people are not taking the necessary precautions to recognize their own biases, while also assessing applicants' true skill level.
Strategic Partners & Advisors: Doctoral Candidate & Co-Founder Allison Silveus is the CEO of Unbent. She works at a major medical school and has research experience in virtual reality, in-group bias and educational psychology. Jorge Silveus, Co-Founder is a mechanical engineer and director of a local engineering company. Advisors on the team have experience in the medical field (Dr. Frank Papa with UNTHSC), analytics (Jordan Levine with MIT) and diversity and inclusion (Jennifer James with TCU). Unbent partnered with SMU in August 2020 to support their computer science engineers as part of a global business partnership. Unbent is part of the TechFW portfolio.
