Hello, my name is Ernie. I have been in business in the construction field for 17 years. We are a mid‑sized company with great success, and we are looking to branch our portfolio into pickleball. I am an avid pickleball player, playing three to four times a week, and I also give lessons when time permits.

I own the land where we are wanting to build. The land sits on US Highway 40, offering not only great exposure but also excellent accessibility. I also have the website currently being built by Amanda Matos out of Chicago, Illinois. I have the lighting contractor, court painter, framer, metal installer, and concrete contractors all in place.

What is pickleball? Pickleball, besides being the fastest growing sport on the planet, has no age limit — from young to old, everyone is playing. The sport was founded with the mindset of community: people meeting people, playing a sport that offers exercise and socialization without giving up the personal urge for competition.

Our plan: We will offer a high‑end facility with six indoor courts, a pro shop, and both inside and outside seating areas. We will offer court rental, open play, leagues, and paid lessons. We will also host and put on tournaments. Two to three times a month, we will offer free lessons to seniors and youth up to 15 years old.

We are currently set up as a wholesaler with four top paddle and gear manufacturers in the business. We plan to have demo paddles from each company. With the fast‑rising price of paddles and gear (average cost $235–$300 for a top‑quality paddle), our goal is to let customers demo any paddle they want before buying — an option no other pickleball facility offers.

There is a place in Florida called The Villages — not long ago you couldn’t get a tee time for golf, now you can walk right up and play. With their completion of courts 309–320, pickleball is now the sport you’re waiting to play. With Fortune 500 companies sponsoring the pro tour and the likes of Tom Brady, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Draymond Green, 50 Cent, and countless others buying pro teams, the growth of the sport speaks for itself.

We sit in the middle of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Indianapolis. There isn’t an indoor facility within an hour of our selected location that caters to pickleball and its players. If you want to play in the evening, you have to drive an hour in almost any direction. This type of location can be repeated over and over in the right places. Simply said, this is an animal that just needs to be let out of the cage.
