The Soil and Turf Society provides “Solutions for Tomorrow’s Golf Course Challenges, Delivered Today” We proposes a national research and demonstration program designed to accelerate the transition of golf course management toward low-input, biologically based, and climate-resilient systems. The program will generate practical, transferable knowledge on water independence, renewable energy, automated maintenance, biological turf management, and cost-effective transition pathways for Australian golf facilities. This initiative is structured around three complementary projects, each addressing a different stage of transformation: retrofitting an existing course, designing a new fully self-sufficient course, and comparing water sources for biologically managed greens.
