ABOUT SPEFLA:  MISSION STATEMENT

As the pace of our lives increases and the demands upon our time multiply, we are forced to make choices about how we allocate our waking hours. Often, we aren’t even conscious of making the decisions about how we parse the limited hours left over when work demands are satisfied. We have scores of options at the ready for providing entertainment or just zoning out. For too many, the non-work hours are medicated with substances or mind-numbing, empty television. Fifty years ago, our options were fewer and life simpler. When television first appeared, it was thought it would mean more hours for shared family time. Boy was that wrong.

SPEFLA was born to address one clear objective: Convince families that sharing laughter will significantly improve their quality of life and the length of their lives as well.
SPEFLA holds that every person is capable of intentionally deciding to experience more laughter in their lives. And SPEFLA specifically argues that laughter provides its greatest benefits when it takes place within families.
How will SPEFLA make money? Primarily by selling branded products, especially T shirts online. It recognizes that T-shirts are not simply articles of clothing as much as they are personalized bulletin boards people wear to support a group or cause, express opinions, or identify with the wearer’s tribe or team. According to Grand View Research, “the global custom T-shirt printing industry was valued at 3.64 billion USD in 2020. It'll potentially expand at a compound annual growth rate of 9.7% from 2021 to 2028.”
Keys to success:

The moment the starting gun sounds, SPEFLA must launch a robust social media presence and brand identity. This is where early funding is absolutely critical. The word, Blitz, describes the mindset of SPEFLA's initial approach to the marketplace. It will require experienced and dedicated social media professionals to design and operate. Social media demands solid, diverse, abundant, and ever-changing content which Dr. Hageseth can supply.

The future: What will SPEFLA look like in 2032?
Several hundreds of thousands of families will have registered and become members of the society..
They will have received SPEFLA's  family humor guidebook and the 12 Affirmations plaque.
They will receive a monthly newsletter.
They will be eligible to be interviewed for podcasts etc.
They will be invited to post their funny family pictures on the SPEFLA online gallery.
The majority will have purchased matching shirts for every family member. 
Some SPEFLA families will purchase a variety of T shirt designs.
They will receive free instruction on how to produce their family laughter video.
