The Lotus Room is an organic salon that has been in business for almost 10 years. Our culture is based in emotional intelligence and we’ve established a good reputation for a healthy work environment and quality of services. Just before the pandemic began, my business was set to hit critical mass after almost 7 years in business. Needless to say, we did not and it has been an uphill battle since. I went through a major transformation in how I operate my business, lead the team, and curate the salon's culture. I have always despised the way the salon industry behaves and originally set out to do something different, and I felt I was struggling to achieve it alone so I enlisted a business coach in 2019. I still work with that coaching program, and through that process I have hired, fired, coached stylists and watched them leave to go solo. Last year in to this year I built my team up to a team of 10, but we have struggled to navigate providing services to an economy that is tumultuous. I don't want my dream to fail. I am scared it is going to this year. I've previously taken loans thinking our numbers would stay the same and they did not. I've done this all on my own, and have learned so much along the way. I enjoy leading people, I enjoy giving back to my community in many ways, and I am proud to offer a unique salon experience. It is not always easy for me to ask for help, so I am exploring all my options in an attempt to stretch my capacity for comfortability. Thank you in advance for your time in reading this and for your consideration!
