We're The Last Bookstore, California’s largest used and new book and record store. Currently in our third incarnation, The Last Bookstore began in 2005 in Josh Spencer's downtown Los Angeles loft. Twenty years later, with three additional and unique stores under his belt, The Last Bookstore is
"The Most Photographed Bookstore in the World." During the revitalization of downtown LA, The Last Bookstore grew quickly to our current 22,000 sq. ft. space in a 100+ yr old bank in the Spring Arts Tower at 5th & Spring. Now, in addition to over 500,000 NEW and USED books spanning two floors, our store includes a 5,000 sq ft.
Arts & Rare Book Annex, tens of thousands of vinyl records and graphic novels, and a huge mezzanine level, including the
Labyrinth Above the Last Bookstore and the
Spring Arts Collective gallery shops. We've reimagined the bookstore experience in more ways than one and created a cultural landmark.
Now, we want to grow, and we need $500,000 to see our vision through. We have over 1 million great used books in storage, and we're ready to sell with a newly obtained 11,000 sq ft space in North Hollywood. In addition to books, we have so many money-making ideas, and we want you to be a part of them. With 151K Instagram followers and millions of impressions, our loyal customers are counting on us to bring them the best in publishing, podcasts and community events.
The Last Bookstore family also includes
Lost Books in Montrose, CA—the first and only plant and book store in the world—and Skull-Face Books & Vinyl, a curated shop in Honolulu, Hawaii, for all things "deep, dark, hard, and weird" in pop culture media.
